Dear Parent,
Have you found bringing up children and teenagers becoming
more and more challenging? Do you find communication with your children
and teenagers difficult? Do your children listen to you? Do you worry
about their future? Do you worry that they'll take drugs or that they
may be already? Do you know how to handle their tantrums, their needs,
their concerns? Do you reach out and feel they withdraw? Do you feel
you are fighting a losing battle?
Not all families are as bad as this, of course, but even
in the best of families, there are times when parents wish their children
came with their own Guidebooks!
Given the unique challenges facing today's children and
families, it's no surprise that professional parent coaching is a growing
niche. More parents are looking beyond the parenting books and self-help
programs because times have changed. What worked 10-20 years ago, doesn't
work today. And there is no back-up support in a book. Parents need
help with their parenting skills!
However, you don't have to hire a coach…
you can learn the skills you need yourself!
Why is "parent coaching" so important?
Why is parenting such a big concern in our society? What’s
wrong with parents today? What's wrong with our kids today? (You might
hear this a lot.)
It is almost unrealistic how many children are struggling
in school, in social relations and finding themselves using drugs, having
sexual relations at very young ages, and suffering from poor self-esteem
and lack of direction. Our children seem to be in a total mess. Teenagers
are getting pregnant earlier. High schoolers are overdosing from drugs
like heroin. Teenagers using drugs has become an even more serious problem
because of the drugs that they are using. It is not just marijuana any
more. This is only one of the problem areas... eating disorders and
suicides are also on the rise. The statistics are shocking and no one
knows what to do -- including the parents.
Many people blame these problems on the child's “dysfunctional
family”. However, I'm not sure these families were taught how
to function in the first place. Family dynamics have changed. We cannot
look to our own parents, or even their parents for role models. Today
it is common for both parents to work and one-parent families are the
"norm" rather than the exception. Everything has changed!
People have children without planning step-by-step how
to raise them. They aren't given a guidebook or an instruction manual.
Schools do not teach "how" to be a parent. There is no major
in college for learning how to be a parent. The issues facing parents
today are different to those our own parents faced. The issues facing
children today are different to those we faced.
We live in very busy times and the quickest and easiest
way to get help as a parent is to learn the process of reconnecting
with your children and establishing long term, healthy relationships
and a chance at the secure future you dream of for your children.
How Can Parents Get the “Parent Guidebook”?
As we already know, children do not come with a "Parent
Guidebook", and I believe the best place for parents to learn how
to raise responsible and healthy children is through the process of
parent coaching. With these knowledge and skills the parent, as coach,
can use healthier and more effective ways of raising children who eventually
will turn into responsible adults!
Being a parent is not easy. Parents are never prepared
for the full package they get when they have children. Parenting adolescents
is even more difficult and some parents just don’t know how to
“handle” their children. They don’t know who to turn
to. They feel like a failure and give up...
As a full-time and full-on aunt to 11 nieces and nephews
and a person who believes in the impact of coaching, I realize that
just because I never had the experience of having my own children, I
know much about coaching skills and parenting.
I hold a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology
and as a specialist in child development, with a degree in this as well.
For many years I worked teaching parents “coaching” skills
to cope with their children and to understand normal development. I
conducted therapy on children of all ages, from infants to 21 years
of age and have massive experience spending full days with children,
making a positive impact on their behavior, learning and self-esteem.
In addition, I conducted parent trainings, workshops,
learning and information sessions, teaching parents skills for better
parenting.
From the results I have seen, I believe parents need to
learn coaching skills.
Keep reading to learn how YOU can benefit from learning
Parent Coaching skills. You don't have to use these skills professionally,
but you will be able to coach your own family and help friends and relatives
with their own issues.
HOW?
I have been working on this material for over five years
and based on people asking me to train them on this information; I decided
the time was now.
I figured the easiest and fastest way to get this information
out to you would be in an e-course.
I have put together a 10 week e-course called: “Parent
Coaching Course for Certification as a Comprehensive Parent Coach”.
(As a parent wishing only to use this skills for your own circumstances,
you do not need to be certified, and certification will not be provided
– unless, of course, you happen to be a fully certified Coach
in the first place, looking for a new niche!)
This e-course is full of incredible information and exercises
that will assist you in coaching with children of all ages
and in any situation.
During this journey you will train in the following:
- How to start off parent coaching with an introductory self-assessment,
so you, as the parent, can see if you are ready for coaching to
deal more effectively with your children
- Parenting coaching principles and beliefs
- Coaching on self-esteem improvement
- What a parent coach needs, even if you are not a parent –
perhaps you are a teacher, potential parent or even a grandparent

so both you and your children will find greater joy together.
This e-course will prepare you to become coaches to your
children and get the best out of them and for them.

Dear Terri,
You are reminding me of one of my 100's of
reasons for quitting teaching school.
One was I realized that through the uses
of positive behavior modification techniques and intrinsic reward,
over time I was able to have an entire school of 750 children
in the palm of my hand. There were times the assistant
principal would call me to assist in a situation where things
were out of hand.
This reason for quitting was I thought it
would be fabulous if I could find an environment where something
similar could occur with adults. (I found an opportunity
to experiment as a social team leader for a course once and
found that the same way of being with children got the SAME
results with adults.)
In the teacher's lounge teachers would be
talking about behavior disordered children and they couldn't
believe I didn't even know which child they meant since the
child was behaving in my class.
I saw what was possible in many scenarios
where a teacher would get transferred in the middle of the year.
The same class that teacher had was almost a shocking difference
with the next teacher. A perfect class of second graders
became an almost impossible group. An impossible group of fifth
graders become almost angelic under the new teacher's techniques.
It was clear to me that children are NOT
a problem. Adults are. And if adults could somehow gain
some mastery, they might enjoy their own children more and not
want to be away "working" so much.
I believe your parenting e-course addresses
this so adults can accept children as the rose that's growing.
You would not expect a rose to be still when the wind was blowing,
would you? Why would anyone expect a two-year old child
to be still as an adult would be? Yet they can be when
prepped for it, just as a rose can if you plan for the wind.
Warmly,
Juanita Bellavance

Now there is no reason to throw up your arms and let your
family life disintegrate into WW3.
You can learn how to re-establish that special connection
with your children, open the lines of communication, understand what
they are saying and have them understand and respect what you are saying.
You can guide them safely through those stormy teenage years and emerge
as responsible, respectable young adults.
If you are looking to integrate parent coaching
as one of your niches in the coaching business, order the ecourse designed
especially for coaches, or people who want to become a parent coach.
